asembl not so live 17

You can't go to see live comedy. So we're bringing live comedy straight to your living room: couch comedy.

Join us on Monday, April 27 at 9 o'clock  (Eastern). It's online since we're prohibited from going out. We call it (not so) live. We've got Alex Edelman, Katie Boyle & Chanel Ali!

Here's the main page for the series where you can check out upcoming and past shows.

Or follow us on social media for the same:

Here's how it works:

  • Hit the "Join the interactive show" button or the "Join the livestream on YouTube" button (though that's much less fun) below at 9:00 p.m. on Monday, April 27 to join. You can RSVP and add to your calendar here or on Facebook.
  • Turn on your microphone and/or camera so we can hear everybody laugh and feel together (also: behave).
  • Our amazing comedians do 10 minute sets each.
  • You laugh a great deal.
  • Donate. We're not putting up a paywall since we want everyone to easily join but we'd appreciate your donating $5 (or more!). Everybody's gigs went poof so a bit of cash would be highly appreciated.

If that doesn't work for some weird reason, our PayPal account is: asembl@asemblco.com (paypal.com).

We also accept Venmo (venmo.com, though they're weird about non-personal payments and so PayPal is better). Our account is @Stevan-Nicholas

Now, the comedians. First up is Katie Boyle.

Katie  performs daily all over NYC and has been seen regularly at New York Comedy Club and on shows in Caroline's on Broadway, Greenwich, Creek and the Cave, QED and many other amazing clubs and shows. She runs a podcast The Shift with Des Bishop where they talk about sex and dating from an Irish perspective. She opens for Des Bishop in NYC (Comedy Cellar's BFPC) and in Ireland (Vicar st and many other theaters).  She was recently ranked in the top 30 NYC roasters which was weird because she's is very nice and that's is probably why she ranked 29!

Next, Chanel Ali.

Chanel Ali is a standup comedian, writer, and actress living in New York City. She hosts the Food Network digital series Food Debate! and was a cast member on MTV’s Girl Code. Chanel was recently honored as a “New Face” at the 2019 Just for Laughs festival in Montreal, and she can be seen on the Starz series Night Train with Wyatt Cenac and Laff Mobb’s Laff Tracks on TruTV. Chanel was featured on the dias of the Friar’s Club’s Roast of Gloria Allred, where she is also a member, and she recently wrote for the @NetflixisaJoke social media accounts.

And finally, Alex Edelman.

Alex has been featured at JFL as a New Face, written on the “The Great Indoors,” appeared on “Conan,” (2018), and been a staple on those ‘comedians you should know’ type lists. He is the creator of “Peer Group” – a show about the Millennial generation – on Radio 4 and his hour-long special, Live at the BBC, is available on Netflix in some countries.

He’s opened for comedians like Eddie Izzard, Ricky Gervais, Patton Oswalt, Gary Gulman and a handful of musicians like Ryan Adams, Beck and San Fermin.

He tours both nationally and internationally and is one of the founders of Jerusalem’s Off the Wall Comedy Club.

When this is all over, you'll need to go out. And also re-introduce yourself to your friends. asembl makes doing both better. Check it out for all the best things going on and the easiest way to gather a group to do those things with.
