Live comedy at home: asembl (not so) live #11

Taped shows are fine. But there's nothing like live comedy. And going out is forbidden. What if we could have comedy live at home?

That's what we have on Monday, April 13 at 9 o'clock  (Eastern). Join us for Kate Willet, Jacob Williams & Natasha Vaynblat.

Here's the main page for the series where you can check out upcoming and past shows.

Or follow us on social media for the same:

Here's how it works:

  • Get Zoom here (it's super simple to use and free).
  • Hit the "Join the show" button below at 9:00 p.m. on Monday, April 13 to join. You can RSVP and add to your calendar here or on Facebook (shudder).
  • Turn on your microphone and/or camera so we can hear everybody laugh and feel together (also: behave).
  • Our amazing comedians do 10 minute sets each.
  • You laugh a great deal.
  • Donate. We're not putting up a paywall since we want everyone to easily join but we'd appreciate your donating $5 (or more!). Everybody's gigs went poof so a bit of cash would be highly appreciated.

We also accept Venmo (venmo.com, though they're weird about non-personal payments and so PayPal is better). Our account is @Stevan-Nicholas

Now, the comedians. First up is Kate Willett.

Kate recently made her network debut on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. She's done a 15 minute special on Netflix’s Comedy Lineup and co-hosts the political comedy podcast Reply Guys. She’s been a correspondent for the Jim Jefferies Show at Politicon and a featured comic on Viceland’s Flophouse. Her appearance on Comedy Central’s This Is Not Happening was on Splitsider’s list of “Best Late Night Standup Sets.” In the past, she toured with Margaret Cho nationally and internationally and has featured with comedians like Kyle Kinane, Maria Bamford, and Greg Behrendt.

And finally, Jacob Williams.

Jacob recently made his late-night network television debut performing stand-up on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and has also performed on the Comedy Central shows Adam Devine's House Party and Roast Battle. He first made his primetime network television debut  on America's Got Talent and advanced to the Semifinals.

Jacob has been a cast member on the hit improv/sketch comedy series Wild 'n Out for nine seasons. He has also provided the voice of a character on the animated miniseries Football U.

When this is all over, you'll need to go out. And also re-introduce yourself to your friends. asembl is the perfect tool to make doing both better. Check it out for all the best things going on and the easiest way to gather a group to do those things with.
